Palletizing

Any operation that ends the line with cases, bags or totes on a pallet: food and beverage, consumer goods, packaging, building products, chemicals, contract packagers and distribution. The same robot can also depalletize, case pack, bin pick, kit and sort.

Thor is the usual choice for full pallets. Its 30 kg payload and 2 m reach cover a standard pallet footprint and full truck height stacks. Core (18 kg, 1.3 m) suits lighter cases, shorter stacks, and case packing - or you can extend its reach with lifts and rails. Payload must cover the case plus the gripper, and vacuum grippers add weight, so size the robot to your heaviest case.

The 48 x 40 in. GMA pallet is the most common in the U.S., at about 30% of pallets produced each year, and it is the footprint most palletizing cells are designed around. Yes, with two pallet stations in your system. The robot builds on one pallet while an operator or forklift removes the finished pallet from the other, then switches sides. Additional station sensors can tell the robot which pallet is ready.

You build patterns in the Standard Bots OS app on an iPad, entering case dimensions and choosing the layer layout instead of writing code. New SKUs, box sizes and patterns can be added as your product mix changes.
